I now have approx 550 pieces of art (drawings/sketches/colored version/digital paintings) with no relation to any kind of project whatsoever. I just did them for fun or practice or it is fanart.
So how do you people organize your digital art archives? What catergories do you use? How do you name your files? Do you number them? How do you keep the oversight?
I tried to do it simply in alphabetical order, didn't help at all and I also don't feel like breaking it into thousands of categories or subjects...
Has anyone found a real solution for this yet?
Thanks really.
Devious Comments
My file names are kind of arbitrary, but it's usually "character name or subject_descriptor_descriptor2". The second descriptor is usually something like "scan" or "lineart" or "color". So:
IronMan_newarmor_color.psd
I also usually condense anything more than six months old into an archive, and burn it to a disk. I still need to get an external drive.
I dunno, I'm working on streamlining my system a little as well...so many folders. I'll be checking back to see if any one has anything to revolutionize my organizational ways.
Anyway, hope this is in some way helpful. Long comment is looooong.

nee, projektname - unterordner, insofern vorhanden, sowas wie "SCANS", "FARBE" und "FERTIG" bei comiczeuchs. das ist eigentlich so die haupt/grundordnung.
